About Padakshep

We are all aware that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused an abrupt and profound changes around the world. The economic crises within countries and globally had led to fiscal austerity, increases in poverty.

It was a big setback on the progress made on global development goals. All of this has led to a crisis in human development that continues long after disease transmission has ended. Although the pandemic slowed us down but it gave us an opportunity to reflect. 15 common minded people of 3rd road, Eastern Park, Santoshpur, Kolkata, mostly female members started a journey on the path of charity and grace, on 9th June 2020 with motto of ——

सर्वेभवन्तुसुखिनः।
सर्वेसन्तुनिरामयाः।
सर्वेभद्राणिपश्यन्तु।
माकश्चित्दुःखभाग्भवेत्॥

(Everyone should be happy, everyone should be in good health and everyone should prosper.)

Padakshep

On this path we stepped a foot forward i.e. the Padakshep. It was a small PADAKSHEP for our society, who envisaged the belief that we could bring some positives for future development of the society. The most important lesson the pandemic had taught us is, more than anything else in the world, we need people in our lives. We have learnt in the hard way to work together, embrace uncertainty, stick together, listen together, and have time for people who matter in our life. We believed that was the time to accept the challenges to help, support, develop and rebuild our society which culminated in the formation of SANTOSHPUR PADAKSHEP a non-profitable charitable non-government society with their registered address at 9, Eastern Park 3rd Road, Santoshpur, Kolkata – 700075. It is our privilege to inform you that SANTOSHPUR PADAKSHEP after 2 years of social service has become a registered society under Registration no. S0029109of 2022 – 2023. Now team Padakhsep with their more than 100 plus members are relentlessly working with single objective for overall development of people irrespective of their caste, creed, or religion.

Objective and Mission

Objective: Undertake programs for improvement of lives particularly children, women, and aged without any discrimination.

Mission: To service the community to inspire hope and promote better livelihood.
